Global Outlook 2016 - Global vantage point for businesses

Globaloutlook2016

For the third year running, Global Outlook Norway invites international speakers to Arendal to share their perspectives of the world and the world of business.

“International trends are especially important for businesses in Agder, which is Norway’s leading export region for high-tech products. Global Outlook is set up as a global vantage point for business leaders”, says Helene Falch Fladmark, General Manager at Eyde Cluster.

Global Outlook serves a mix of international snapshots and trends. What is happening right now, what are the major trends that will influence global development, and what consequences will this have for business?

“We aim to create a national arena for discussion on global challenges, threats and opportunities that will impact corporate strategies and influence value creation in Agder and Norway in the years ahead”, says Anne-Grete Ellingsen, CEO of GCE NODE.

This year's conference highlights a disruptive world and opportunities to balance economic growth, social development and sustainability. The program is diverse and includes energy issues, and geopolitical, economic and environmental perspectives from Turkey and India. We look at how terror set its mark on Paris and how terrorism affects global growth. Speakers come from Turkey, France, China, India and Norway.

Global Outlook Norway is co-hosted by three Norwegian business clusters: GCE NODEEyde Cluster and Maritime Forum South. The conference is funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and is part of the official program of Arendalsuka, a high-profiled week of political and societal debate.

“The conference is very popular and was fully booked in 2014 and 2015. Global Outlook will yet again serve as the major meeting point for businesses during Arendalsuka”, says Helge Grobæk, executive chairman of Maritime Forum South.
